Grant and I are so excited to be sharing this Colorado engagement session! Nick is my cousin, and I have known him all my life. I even helped babysit him and his sister Allison many years ago when they lived in Connecticut. I have seen him grow up from a young teenager who made us all laugh with his silly antics, to a thoughtful, caring young man who still makes us laugh with his dry sense of humor.
Nick and Erika have been sweethearts since middle school and their relationship has stood both the test of time and of distance as they went through high school and college. Now, 9 years later, they are engaged and planning a 2021 wedding! Back in March, I reached out asking if they would want to do a couple’s session in the mountains. Then COVID happened and we postponed our trip to the fall. Erika suspected that Nick would likely take the opportunity to propose to her during the session. Nick decided to surprise her and propose a month before we were planning to come out. And it worked! She was completely surprised and we got to do an engagement session in the mountains! It really was a win all around. 😉
We spent all day Saturday tagging along with Nick and Erika as they toured a couple wedding venues, and grabbing photos in all the locations we could! The aspens are definitely my favorite from this shoot! Their colors were slowly changing and the light streaming through was so incredible!
Nick and Erika, thank you so much for letting us tag along on your venue tours and allowing us to get our fill of photos in the mountains! You guys were so fun to hang out with and we hope you love your photos! So, while you wait for your entire gallery, enjoy this little preview of your Colorado engagement session! 🙂
