I am so thankful to be celebrating one year of marriage with Grant! When I found out we would be in South Dakota for our anniversary, I made it my mission to find a photographer that could do a session with us. I may not totally love having my picture taken, but I love pictures with Grant. And there’s no better time for photos than on your one year anniversary!
Laura from Studio LB was amazing! She asked if we would be willing to do something more adventurous for our photos. Of course we agreed! If you’ve never hiked to Little Devil’s Tower, then I highly recommend it! It really isn’t too hard of a trail, just a little more complicated when you’re wearing a floor length dress. I did wear tennis shoes for the actual hiking part. I didn’t think the heels would really cut it for an hour long hike. Turns out it’s totally possible to scramble over rocks with a really nice dress on and not rip it to shreds! Who knew?! 😉
Once we made it to the top, the view was simply amazing! The wind…..not so much. 😉 Definitely go when you can watch the sunset, even if it means walking the trail back in the dark. It’s so worth it! And if you’re ever there, I’m sure Laura would love to photograph anyone willing to take on the challenge!
What I love most about these pictures (besides them being with Grant), is the fact that it captures our adventurous side so well. Our one year of marriage has been truly incredible. I love doing life with Grant! Our first few months of marriage consisted of a lot of traveling to different states and just enjoying finally being married together. If we can find a way to be together all the time, then that’s what we try to do. 🙂
You never cease to amaze me. I love your heart for serving others. You are always willing to put others’ needs ahead of your own. I love how excited you get over seeing any animal. Even if it does interrupt our conversation so you can bring it to my attention. 😉 You’re always willing to help with dinner or cleanup and I love that about you. There have been so many times that I’ve come home from second shooting a wedding or from work, and you’ve spent several hours cleaning the house, because you know I like it. You always manage to make me smile even when I’m having a rough day, or am just plain cranky. You make me feel special and so very loved all the time. We’re the best of friends living this beautiful life that God has created. And I wouldn’t trade this life with you for anything!
Thank you for being so persistent all those years to win me over. I look forward to many more anniversaries and adventures with you!!
I love you my Grant!
