As the fog slowly lifts off the lake on this cool September morning in Knob Noster State Park, Ben and Kaila are wrapped up in each other’s arms. They are enjoying the beginning of their last day together ‘til Christmas. Both Ben and Kaila serve in the Air Force, so their time together is precious. They live over 600 miles apart, and have learned to make the most of any time they can get together no matter how short it may be.
Ben graduated from the Air Force Academy this spring and is now stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, Missouri. Kaila is beginning her junior year at the Academy and will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in science. Two years of long-distance waiting may seem daunting, but Ben and Kaila are so positive and happy that I’m sure the time will fly by!
Kaila and Ben’s love story is one of the most unique you will ever hear. These two love-birds met while in a special falcon training course at the Air Force Academy. Yes, you read that right. They met while training falcons. This accelerated training course allows a select few Air Force cadets to accomplish in just months what it takes most civilians 5 years to achieve. It was during this time of training falcons when Ben and Kaila fell in love. I love hearing the unique stories of how couples meet! Everyone’s story is different, and so incredible. 🙂
We loved getting to know Ben and Kaila. They are such sweethearts who are clearly very much in love! Their sunrise session was absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
Ben and Kaila, thank you so much for letting us take your photos! We loved meeting you both and hanging out! I hope you enjoy your photos as much as we do! 🙂
