In a quaint walnut grove, nestled along the banks of the Meramec River, Andrew stands at the altar wearing the engraved tie clip Emily had given him that morning. Emily, nervous with excitement, waits with her father behind closed doors. On her right wrist she is wearing a cross bracelet that her mother and grandmother both wore as a necklace at the altar on their wedding days. As the stringed trio begins playing, the doors open wide and Emily begins her walk down the aisle beside her dad. Andrew and Emily now stand hand in hand, with their closest friends and family watching on with much delight. As the pastor calls up the parents of Andrew and Emily, they take a private moment to pray, giving thanks to the Lord and asking for His blessing. There, underneath that walnut grove, Andrew and Emily read their vows that they had written and prepared beforehand proclaiming a love that is special and unique to them.
Andrew and Emily have had a beautiful journey leading them to this exact moment. It started with a Mizzou football game, and a chance meeting. Andrew knew right away that he wanted to spend more time with Emily, and as fate would have it, their paths crossed again that night, when both their groups of friends stopped for a bite to eat at the same place. Emily was quick to realize that something set Andrew apart from the rest of the crowd, a kindness and steadfastness about him that spoke to Emily’s heart. A relationship formed and love blossomed. A love that on June 15th of 2019 would bring Andrew and Emily’s family together under the shade of the walnut grove, laughing, crying tears of joy, and dancing the evening away.
