Today’s blog post is special because it’s all about my husband and how today is his birthday! I’ll try and not get too mushy for you all though, so no worries! 😉 Originally we were planning to spend this week in Colorado, hiking lots and taking photos as much as possible. But then Covid-19 happened and now we will hope for no rain so we can still spend the majority of the time outside and together.
When I first met Grant in EMT class, all I knew about him was that he was happy, super smart and always wearing a hat. He’s still all of those things, except now I know him for so much more. I know him for the hard worker that he is. How energetic and full of life he is all the time no matter what is going on in the world. He’s always willing to drop anything to help someone out. His dance skills may be lacking, but his silly and fun side makes up for that! And he’s still always down for turning up the music and dancing away! 🙂
I don’t know really anyone who doesn’t like Grant. Our nieces and nephews love him like crazy, and we usually have to FaceTime Grant if he’s not hanging out with us so they can see him. 😉 Grant is that guy who will always help you out, even if it means he has to change his personal plans to do it. And he never complains! He will wholeheartedly give you 100% of his time and effort.
Grant is the most servant-hearted person I know. Even after a long day of working, he still always asks me what I need help with or how he can help me. No task is below him. While some husbands may frown at doing “house work,” Grant will help me clean house, do laundry, fold, wash dishes, etc. and never once complain! Honestly, I don’t really know how I got so lucky with him, but I have to say I’m thankful that God placed him in my life! Last year, I wrote little notes for him every day. At one point I realized how so many of my notes were devoted to thanking him for showing me Christ through the daily sacrifices he makes cheerfully and without complaining. I think God knew I needed that daily reminder. 🙂
To my Grant: Thank you for always being the happiest, hardest working, most patient, loving, serving and gracious husband ever! I’m so thankful for you daily and I’m grateful that we get to be together every day! I’m thankful I get to celebrate you another year (even though we feel that this “getting older” thing is definitely making it harder for us to recover from our runs!) 😉 I love how excited you are about life and the fact that you have the ability to do so much. You’re always so thankful and I love that about you. I love you so much, and we’ll celebrate with meat instead of cake since I know that’s your favorite. 😉 I love you!!
